PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic alternate feeder for five point type arrangement container receivers for fruits allowing maintaining synchronism of moves of various means constituting a fruit feed chain and moves of alternate feed for the container receivers. SOLUTION: This feeder has a feed line constituted of two belts 1, 1' advancing in the same direction with different speeds, photoelectric tubes 2 on first alignments of the containers and photoelectric tubes 3 on fruit outlets of the feeders, a hydraulic cylinder for spacing or collecting outlet ends of feed lines by changing directions of inlet ends of the feed lines, a detection means for detecting arrangements of the containers and appropriately positioning the feed lines and a monitoring means 7 for monitoring loading at the inlet ends of the feed lines in order that a conveyance device 8 adjusts feed and provides continuity for the whole feed.
