Punching and stamping tool

The riveting tool has a hydraulic cylinder (1) with two pistons (2,3), where one piston (2) carries the rivet pin (4) and the other piston (3) has the ram (5). The zone (8) between the pistons (2,3) is linked to a pressure zone, with a variable volume, towards the cylinder zone of one piston (2) and connected to a pressure cylinder (12). A control system determines the working of the apparatus. After a rivet has been positioned under the rivet pin (4), and the ram is against the upper layer of the plates to be bonded together, the pressure cylinder (12) is activated and a throttle (15) is tripped between the intermediate zone (8) and pressure zone to trigger the rivet punching action. It also exerts a retaining pressure on the materials being riveted through the ram by pressure from the cylinder (12) forcing one piston (2) towards the other piston (3) to keep them together under pressure until the stamping action.
