LENS FOR SPECTACLES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens for spectacles which relaxes the dazzle of sunlight while maintaining the brightness of a visual field. SOLUTION: This lens is made of a synthetic resin base material which contains a UV ray absorbent and blue light absorbent together with an organic dye which is a squarilium compound of the following formula having a maximum absorbent value on near the central wavelength of the standard relative luminosity curve and has a minimal value of a transmittance curve in the wavelength range of 550 to 585 nm and in which the transmittance at the minimal value is <=25%, the average transmittance in the wavelength range of 590 to 660 nm is >=15% and the average transmittance in the wavelength range of 470 to 550 nm is >=10%.
