PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque converter capable of improving the efficience and the torque capacity coefficient when flattened. SOLUTION: In a flattened torque converter whose flatness L/D is set 0.21 or lower, the ratio r/R of the outer peripheral radius of curvature R at the pump impeller of the turbine shell 16 and the outer peripheral radius of curvature at the pump impeller of the core 18 is set 0.3<=r/R<=0.5 to improve the efficiency and the torque capacity coefficient as well.
