PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bamboo reinforcing member for stabilizing an excavated surface of a tunnel, which is inexpensive in cost, high in effect, and capable of making effective use of a bamboo material. SOLUTION: The bamboo reinforcing member 1 is driven onto the excavated surface 31 which is exposed in the interior or a tunnel 3 in an excavating direction, for stabilizing the excavated surface, and formed of the bamboo material which has been subjected to at least one of smoking treatment and mothproof finish. Further, an inner space of the cylindrical bamboo material 2a is longitudinally penetrated, and a plurality of side holes 22 are formed in a surface of the bamboo material at longitudinal intervals so as to connect the inner space to the outside. Furthermore, the bamboo material is divided into a plurality of strip plates 2b which are arranged on the periphery of a pipe member 5 which can be cut, and outer surfaces of the arranged plates are bound by a wire 61, to thereby form a unitary body.
