PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly select an operating mode of each control unit in a distributed control system. SOLUTION: This distributed control system comprises at least two control units 10, 12 separating from each other and respectively controlling at least one adjusting element 18, 20. At least two control units are united with each other through at least one communication system 50, and at least two operating modes are distinguished in control of the adjusting element 18, 20. In each of at least two control units 10, 12, each operating mode is selected on the basis of at least one supplying signal.
