PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer for oral cavity useful as a bacteria adsorption inhibitor capable of effectively inhibiting bacteria adsorption on the surface of a tooth, and a composition for oral cavity. SOLUTION: The polymer for oral cavity has a polymer chain containing a recurring structure derived from a monomer bearing a residue formed by removing one hydrogen atom from at least one phosphorus-containing acid selected among phosphoric acid, a polyphosphoric acid, phosphonic acid, a polyphosphonic acid, phosphinic acid and partial esters thereof, and salts thereof, and a hydrophilic polymer chain. The bacteria adsorption inhibitor comprises the polymer for oral cavity. The composition for oral cavity comprises the polymer for oral cavity.
