SHIFT LEVER DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device capable of easily shifting a shift lever from a manual speed change mode to an automatic speed change mode without being affected by the motion of a transmission. SOLUTION: The shift lever device 16 comprises the shift lever 21 and a control lever 22. The control lever 22 is pivotably supported by a rotation axis 23 and mechanically connected to the transmission. The shift lever 21 is oscillatably supported by the rotation axis 23 via a pin 24. A base part 21b of the shift lever 21 is provided with an engaging projecting part 21c and a through hole 21d. A substantially trapezoid flat spring 25 is fixed to a root part 25b of the control lever 22, and its tip 25a is inserted into the through hole 21d in the shift lever 21. Length of the flat spring 25 is set so that the tip 25a is not removed from the through hole 21d even when the shift lever 21 is shifted to any position.
