PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical transmission module which can obtain a high coupling efficiency with a high yield. SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser and an optical fiber are optically coupled with first and second lenses 2 and 3 between them, and the second lens 3 is previously fixed to a module package, and these parts are mounted on the module package, and the optical distance between the principal surface on the second lens 3 side of the first lens 2 and the principal surface on the first lens 2 side of the second lens 3 is set to f1+f2 approximately where f1 and f2 are focal lengths of the first lens 2 and the second lens 3 respectively.
