PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive composition having fireproofness, thermal resistance, flame-retardancy, thermal insulation and mothproofness, without generating harmful substances to the human body in the course of production of the adhesive, adhesion work or waste treatment. SOLUTION: The adhesive composition comprises water glass as the principal component added by clay particulates selected from diatomaceous earth, kaolinite, illite, talc, montmorillonite, or the like, and an inorganic waterproofness provider such as aluminum silicate. The composition can be applied as a coating agent to construction materials and interior materials.
