RECORDER AND ITS CONTROLLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recorder in which head cleaning operation is executed appropriately neither too much or too less before starting the recording operation when a user purchased a recorder executes recording operation for the first time. SOLUTION: In a storage means for storing information concerning the time when cleaning operation is performed before, future time information is stored for the time of shipment of a recorder. According to an elapsed time calculated from the stored information concerning to the time and the information of current time when recording operation is designated, appropriate cleaning operation is executed when the elapsed time has a negative value.
