PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound that can be a manufacturing raw material of a recording material having excellent color-developing sensitivity, light resistance of an image, plasticizer resistance or the like, and further to provide the recording medium including the compound. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula [I] [R<1> is a hydroxy group, a 1-6C alkyl group or a 1-6C alkoxy group; (a) and b are each 0-2; R<4> is a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group; A and B are each an alkylene group obtained by bonding 2-10 repeating units represented by formula [II] (R<2> and R<3> are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group), with the proviso that the repeating units are same or different; and Z is a 1-6C alkylene group or a divalent organic group such as a phenylene group and a diphenylene group]. The recording medium includes the compound. |
