摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain diffusion of fuel spray, to promote atomization and carburetion of the spray through collision with an intake flow and to improve retentivity around an ignition plug by correcting the tendency that the intake flow flowing in from a plurality of intake ports tends to concentrate in the direction passing the center of a combustion chamber. SOLUTION: A tumble flow flowing into the combustion chamber from the plurality of intake ports 10 at stratified operation is made to collide with the fuel spray from a fuel injection valve 18, a tumble adjusting valve 27 is provided at the intake port 10, a notch 271 is provided at the tumble adjusting valve 27 for having an intake air pass when the valve is closed, and the notch 271 is set so that the central part in the direction where the plurality of intake ports 10 are lined is throttled more than the both ends so that flow velocity distribution in the direction where the intake ports 10 are lined in the combustion chamber is made even.
