DUST REMOVING METHOD FOR PAPER ROLL AND ITS DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method applicable to paper rolls having various diameters and widths for measuring the degree of offset of the paper roll while removing dust deposited on the side face thereof, and its device. SOLUTION: An air blow port 13a and an air suction port 14a are arranged facing to the side face of the paper roll 2 placed on a pair of driving rollers 3. These are provided in an elevatable actuator 12 and elevatable along a vertical line passing through a pair of central portions of the driving rollers 3. The actuator 12 is supported by a forward/backward actuator movable forward and backward to the axial direction of the paper roll 2. A thrusting roller 18 abuts on the upper edge of the paper roll 2. The air blow port 13a and the air suction port 14a are made to face to the paper roll 2 by operating the actuators 7, 12, and then a pressure air is blown out of the air blow port 13a and a surrounding air is sucked from the air suction port 14a while rotating the paper roll 2 with the rotation of driving rollers 3. A change in height of the thrusting roller 18 is measured for determining the offset of the paper roll 2.
