PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the steering column operation follow-up ability in tilting operation by appropriately arranging a holding element for supporting a lower bracket body for receiving a secondary load and the steering column to securely absorb the energy. SOLUTION: This steering device is provided with the steering column 11 and the lower bracket 12 for supporting a lower end of the steering column 11. The lower bracket 12 is provided within a surface vertical to the axial direction of the steering column 11, and provided with a main body 18 having an opening 19 for insertion of the steering column 11 and a holding part 20 formed in a lower peripheral edge of the opening 19 of the main body 18. This holding part 20 is provided with a standing part 20a and a column receiver part 20b.
