PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of bearing thrust force generated by an element of a planetary gear mechanism in speed change with a simple structure and without increasing component cost. SOLUTION: A first thrust needle bearing 178 adjacent to a right side of a carrier 14 and rotatably supporting the carrier 14 is supported with axial movement restricted by a support cylinder part 197 of a intermediate partition wall 195 as a part of a case main body 190. The first thrust needle bearing 178 includes a bearing nut 176 axially supporting a radial bearing 175 rotatably supporting a counter drive gear 170 as a structure member. The bearing nut 176 is provided with both of function as supporting mechanism of the radial bearing 175 and race function of the first thrust needle bearing 175.
