PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor device capable of detecting passengers without occupying a building floor, while preventing contact with the passengers. SOLUTION: Passenger detecting means 10 are arranged on an outer deck 3 to detect passengers through panels 4. The passengers can thereby be detected without occupying a building floor with posts or the like, and since the panels 4 and handrails 5 are interposed between the passenger detecting means 10 and the passengers, the passengers are prevented from coming in contact with the passenger detecting means 10.
