PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a support for a lithographic printing plate, on which uniform honeycomb pits can be formed through quantity of electricity fewer than ever under the condition that an aluminum plate formed out of regenerated aluminum metal is employed. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the support for the lithographic printing plate has a surface-roughening treatment process, which is to roughen at least one side of the aluminum plate and includes an alkali etching process (A) for etching the aluminum plate by bringing an alkali solution into contact therewith and an electrolytic surface-roughening process (A) for electrolytically surface-roughening the etched aluminum plate in a hydrochloric acid aqueous solution containing a hydrochloric acid as a major acid compound.
