PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeding device of a web-shaped wrapping material which makes the structure of a tension mechanism giving tension to the web-shaped wrapping material paid out and braking a web roll when the payout of a web- shaped wrapping material stops simple and compact, and evades the flattering of a wrapping material. SOLUTION: A cushion roller 16 rolled round by the web-shaped wrapping material Fw is urged by a coil spring 18 in the tension mechanism 5 of the feeding device 1 of the web-shaped wrapping material. The cushion roller 16 absorbs the loosening of the web-shaped wrapping material Fw by directing acting horizontally with a rack 22 and strains when a payout mechanism 4 stops. The movement of the rack 22 is converted into the rotation of a gear 23 and a brake mechanism 7 is operated by the cam effect of a cam 25 which is an interlocking member. Because a cushion roller 16 which directs acting horizontally is hardly influenced by gravity, the cushion roller 16 is smooth with no waste without generating any flattering.
