PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which can reduce the optical connection loss at the time of connecting optical fibers to each other. SOLUTION: A guide hole 13 of a ferrule 10A is constituted of a first guide hole part 14 to which a guide pin should be inserted and a second guide hole part 15 which is provided on the rear end face side of the first guide hole part 14 and has a diameter smaller than that of the guide pin. When the guide pin is inserted to the first guide hole part 14 in the optical connector having the ferrule 10A, the resistance of an air flow is generated in the guide hole 13. Thus a large impact is not applied to a connection end face 11 of the ferrule 10A because air in the guide hole 13 functions as a damper. Consequently, the optical connection loss can be reduced.
