PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifreeze hydrant with a check valve device, the cost of which is reduced extremely, which is not damaged and can be mounted anywhere. SOLUTION: A drainage cylinder 11 with a drain in which a front lower end section is opened is installed sideways on the drain-inlet downstream side of a valve casing 1 for the antifreeze hydrant. A water inlet 13 in a lower section, a downward check valve seat 14 in an upper section on the downstream side of the cylinder and a longitudinal water outlet 16 along a front wall from the upper section on the downstream side to a lower end section are communicated and secured to the drainage cylinder respectively. A check cartridge 12, in which the check valve seat is closed by a check valve 17 and which is made of a resin, is inserted so as not to be easily detached.
