<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deposit control additive for direct injection gasoline engines. SOLUTION: This additive consists of a fuel-soluble reaction product obtained by reaction between (i) a monocarboxylic acid of the formula (where, R1 is a linear or branched saturated or unsaturated 8-18C hydrocarbyl group) and (ii) an amine of the formula: NH2 -CH2 -CH2 -NH-R2 [where, R2 includes (Cx H2x Z)y H (where, x=2 or 3, y=0 to 4, and Z is NH or O)]. By driving a direct injection gasoline engine through feeding the engine with a fuel composition including the above additive, deposits in the above engine can be diminished.</p> |
