WATER-SOLUBLE LUBRICANT COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble lubricant composition hardly affected by the hardness of water for dilution, and hardly forming insoluble salt even if the composition is diluted thereby. SOLUTION: This water-soluble lubricant composition comprises a phosphoric ester (salt) and/or a sulfuric ester salt of (A) an alkylene oxide adduct of an aliphatic alcohol satisfying the following conditions (1) to (3): (1) the component (A) is one kind or a mixture of two or more kinds of compounds represented by formula (1): R<1> (OA)k-OH (1); (2) the ratio of Mw/Mn of the component (A) satisfies formula (2) or (3): Mw/Mn<=0.030×Ln(v)+1.010 (when v<10) (2); Mw/Mn<=-0.026×Ln(v)+1.139 (when v>=10) (3); and (3) the distribution constant c represented by equality (4): c=(v+n0 /n0 -1)/[Ln(n0 /n0 )+n0 /n0 -1] (4) in the component (A) is not larger than 2.0.
