PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of performing fast mountain climbing focusing operation in the camera for performing a focusing operation with a contrast method. SOLUTION: In the camera for performing a focusing operation with a contrast method, a distance (d) between lens positions x5 and x6 corresponding to a focus evaluation value almost equal to a focus evaluation value at restarting among focus evaluation values stored in a storing part and a lens position P corresponding to the maximum focus evaluation value (y) is calculated at restarting. Then, the calculated distance (d) is set to a moving amount of a photographing lens at restarting. A focusing operation can be started from a lens position closer to a peak of a focus evaluation value at restarting. As a result of that, it is possible to shorten a time needed for focusing and to perform fast focusing. |
