PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish means for checking the displacement of main portions of a supporting device from the outside while keeping the supporting device in the state of being sealed with a seal material. SOLUTION: The supporting device installed between a bridge pier and a bridge girder and sealed with a cover has members constituting the supporting device, mounted with a rod material to be moved in parallel to the displacing direction of the members, and a through-hole provided in the cover, through which the rod material is inserted, so that the displacement of the constituent members is detected from a change in protrusion of the rod material protruding from the through-hole. The displacement of the members in the state of being sealed with the cover can be detected by visual check or actual measurement of a change in protrusion or retraction amount of the rod material with the protrusion thereof from the through-hole in the cover in a normal condition, as a criterion.
