1,181,585. Taking up slack in cables; masted lift trucks. CLARK EQUIPMENT CO. 26 April, 1968 [12 June, 1967], No. 20057/68. Headings B8B and B8H. An apparatus on a lift truck for maintaining flexible electrical conductors 148, 156 taut while flexible fluid conduits 104, 92 with which they are mounted vary in length due to pressure therein, comprises compression springs 152, 160 interposed between stops 154, 162 on the conductors 148, 156 and a plate 138 connected to the conduits and having apertures through which the conductors pass to co-extend with their associated conduits. The conductors are secured to the conduits by clips 150, 158 adjacent their connection to a bracket 96 secured to the lower fixed section of a threesection telescopic mast on the truck prior to their connections to sources of supply on the truck. A bracket 82 secured to the intermediate section of the mast, carries one end of each conduit 92, 104, the tension arrangement for the conductors 148, 156 and a double sheave 132 around which the conductors pass prior to passing with the conduits, around dual sheave assemblies 112, 114 at opposite ends of a vertically sliding beam 120. The latter moves with relative movement of the brackets 96 and 82 which move with relative movement of the bottom and intermediate section of the mast. The telescopic mast which is extended by a fluid ram includes a carrier vertically movable on the upper section of the mast by chains connecting the carrier to the ram cylinder and passing over sprockets at the top of the ram piston. The aforesaid conduits supply fluid to be used as a power source, to a valve on the carrier, the valve being controlled by solenoids supplied with power via the aforesaid conductors. |
