PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection and repair device and method for the inside of a furnace capable of efficiently, safely and positively carrying out the inspection and repair work for the welding part of a shroud support leg and a shroud support, the welding part of the shroud support leg and a pressure vessel, and neighborhoods of the welding parts. SOLUTION: The inspection and repair device and method for the inside of a furnace are provided with a conveyance device 9 provided on a cylindrical body part, provided with an extension arm 13 transversely extended from a rotary drum 24 rotating around an axis of the body part, inserted from an upper part of the pressure vessel 1 of a boiling water reactor and installed between a core support plate 8 and a control rod drive mechanism housing 6, and a working device 10 inserted from the upper part of the pressure vessel 1, attached and detached by an attachment and detachment mechanism 14 provided on the tip of the extension arm 13, attached to the shroud support leg 2 provided in a pressure vessel 1 lower part and inspecting and repairing the shroud support leg or its neighborhood.
