SIGNATURE CARRYING METHOD AND GRIPPER ASSEMBLY FOR MATCHED SPEED CARRYING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry a signature from a carrying system to a gripper system without momentarily changing the speed of a gripper after carrying the signa ture from the carrying system to the gripper system. SOLUTION: This gripper assembly 31 comprises a gripper bar 8 having the gripper 15 and an oscillating arm having a gripper seat portion 18. The gripper assembly 31 is moved so that the gripper 15 is protruded passing through a gap 13 existing in front of the front edge of the signature 12 being carried in a taping system 20 and then further moved so that the gripper seat portion 18 is aligned straight with the front edge of the signature 12 and moved at the same speed as that of the signature 12. The gripper 15 is driven in the direction of the gripper seat portion 18 so that the signature 12 is held between the gripper 15 and the gripper seat portion 18.
