The invention relates to a process for eliminating sulfur compounds from the gasoline fraction, which is characterized in that an oxidation reaction of said sulfur compounds is carried out using at least one organic-inorganic composite as catalysts, said composite comprising at least Si, Ti and silico n plus carbon, and using organic or inorganic hydroperoxides as oxidizing agents. According to the inventive process, said organic-inorganic composite is obtained by means of a process comprising a silylation step during synthesis or a process comprising a post-synthesis silylation step.
