PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light source for high-speed optical communication which is suitable for research and development of highspeed optical communication in the next generation and is easy to acquire and is easily utilized. SOLUTION: The light source is provided with a seed light source part 1 for emitting ultrashort pulse laser light and a processing part 2 for branching, delaying, and synthesizing the ultrashort pulse laser light from the seed light source part 1, and the processing part 2 is provided with a branching part 4 for branching the ultrashort pulse laser light into a plurality of light, a delay part 5 consisting of a plurality of optical waveguides which guide the ultrashort pulse laser light branched by the branching part 4 respectively and are different by optical path lengths, and a synthesizing part 6 for synthesizing a plurality of ultrashort pulse laser light guided by the delay part 5 into one. It is preferable that quartz substrate type optical waveguide parts are used for the processing part 2. |
