<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat accumulator that discovers a break in a heat exchanger tube in an early period without an operational stop. SOLUTION: Water supplied to a heat storage tank 12 is drawn out as steam. The steam is introduced into a closed tank 43 storing a given quantity of water and mixed with the water in the closed tank 43 to generate saturated steam. The closed tank 43 has an electrical resistivity sensor 71 for detecting a change in electrical resistivity of the water in the closed tank 43. If the heat exchanger tube 15 breaks, nitrate of a heat storing material 14 is eluted into the water in the heat exchanger tube 15 from the break. Steam including the nitrate is then supplied to the closed tank 43, and the nitrate is dissolved in the water in the closed tank 43. Water with a dissolution of nitrate has lower electrical resistivity than water without such a dissolution. Whether a break is present or not in the heat exchanger tube 15 is determined according to the change in electrical resistivity.</p> |
