PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlash error reducing device which reduces the backlash error by stopping a base body before the printing position, advancing a drive system at a low speed, and moving the base body to the printing position. SOLUTION: This backlash error reducing device is controlled by a controller 20. When a base body advancer 22 of the controller 20 transmits the control signal to a step motor 11, the base body 2 is moved to a point 31 not reaching a target position. The base body 2 is placed at an infinite stop point 31 in a range of the backlash, a final basic advancer 23 of the controller 20 transmits the control signal for N steps of the step motor 11, and the step motor 11 advances the base body to a final target position 32 at a low speed to remove any backlash error.
