PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polypropylene film that, when subjected to widely-practiced longitudinal/lateral sequential biaxial stretching, has a high rigidity in the longitudinal direction and a high dimensional stability, and a high moisture proofness. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polypropylene film comprises mixing polypropylene (A) having a mesopentad fraction of 94-99.5%, and satisfying the relationship represented by formula (1): log(MS)>-0.61 log(MFR)+0.52 as to melt strength (MS) measured at 230 deg.C and a melt flow rate (MFR), with at least one of an additive which is compatible with the polypropylene and impartable a plasticizing effect upon the orientation.
