PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide molded rice having soft palate feeling and appearance and conveniently eatable with feeling of snack, and to provide a method for producing the rice. SOLUTION: This molded boiled rice is composed of boiled rice grains and has a void ratio of 5-30 vol.%. The method for producing the boiled rice comprises filling rice and water for boiling in a packaging container and sealing the packaging container so as to give a head space thereto followed by heating the resultant product, thus boiling and molding are done in the packaging container. |
