PURPOSE: An LAPD(Link Access Protocol on D-channel) processing apparatus of an exchange is provided to construct a PRI(Primary Subscriber Interface) with an IDPA(ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network) D-Channel Processing board Assembly) and an IPCA(ISDN Primary rate CEPT board Assembly) and accept subscribers of the first group speed, thereby managing an IDLC(Integrated Digital-Loop Carrier) efficiently according to requirements of subscribers. CONSTITUTION: An IDPA(20) controls an IPCA(30), transmits/receives control data and data to the IPCA(30), transmits D channel data received from the IPCA to a TSL(Time Switch and Link) and a PP(Peripheral Processor). The IPCA(30) receives a control of the IDPA(20) and processes an LAPD protocol of a D channel(number 16) from a PRI signal transmitted from a PBX(Private Branch eXchange)(13) or a router(14). The IDPA(20) consists of a control unit(21) for controlling operations entirely. A ROM(Read Only Memory)(22), an SRAM(Static Random Access Memory)(23), a common memory(24) are controlled by the control unit(21) and perform a memory function. A switch interface unit(25) is connected to a common memory(24) and the TSL through a switch cable and performs a switch interface function. A TD-bus interface unit(26) is connected to a common memory(24) and performs an interface with the PP through the TD-bus. A serial bus interface unit(27) is controlled by the control unit(21) and performs a serial bus interface with the IPCA(30).
