PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive to make welding operation efficient and speedy by easily attaching/detaching to/from a pipeline of an automatic welding head, in welding of the pipeline. SOLUTION: The construction of the automatic welding head 1 comprises a round-shaped traveling rail body 20 provided with a rack part 25 on the outer face of openable semi-circular rail parts 21, 22, a traveling carriage 30 having an engage guide part 40 guided by detachably engaging with the traveling rail body 20, and a gear part 37 meshing with the rack part 25, and a pair of rotatable engaging parts 3, 4 for detachably engaging with the traveling carriage 30.
