GAS REFINING BY PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing gaseous impurities, such as hydrogen, water, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, from a gaseous feed flow. SOLUTION: This method comprises removing the impurities, such as the hydrogen, water, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, from the gaseous feed flow in a vessel within a reaction zone having a layer of an adsorptive substance and oxidation catalyst. A pressure swing adsorption process is preferably used in this method before the gaseous feed flow is introduced into an extremely cryogenic distillation unit.
