PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing for an incubator with a inner receptacle capable of being sealed and insulated against heat, and to provide a method for forming a thermal insulation sheath of the inner receptacle. SOLUTION: This housing for the incubator is characterized in that the internal space is accessible via the front door of the housing, the inner receptacle is surrounded a space apart from the thermal insulation sheath made of at least one material with low thermal conductivity, the sheath having at least four flat plate-shaped thermal insulation elements mutually connected and enclosing the inner receptacle jacket- fashion, and the flat plate-shaped thermal insulation elements being arranged a space apart from the inner side of an external housing. The other objective method for forming the thermal insulation sheath of the housing inner receptacle comprises charging a mold corresponding to the flat plate-shaped elements of the thermal insulation sheath with a granular material comprising an expandable polystyrene and polyphenylene ether and then feeding high-temperature steam and subjecting the granular material to pressure molding into the thermal insulation flat plate-shaped elements.
