PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite roll capable of solving the conventional manufacturing defects to be applied to all kinds of composite roll without irrespective of the diameter of the barrel of the roll, low in costs, small in man-hours, and capable of securing satisfactory property irrespective of the component of the inner and outer layers. SOLUTION: A roll core material is previously constituted, and the part corresponding to a roll barrel of the roll core material is preheated, and the part is applied with internal chill by a molten metal made of an outer layer material to form the composite roll.
