PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which can be used in a stable manner for a long period of time without an increase of temperature inside of the sewing machine. SOLUTION: The sewing machine is equipped with a motor 2 to drive a vertical reciprocating mechanism of a needle, a power transmitting mechanism to transmit rotary driving force of the motor 2 to the vertical reciprocating mechanism of the needle, a hand pulley 40 which is interlocked with the power transmitting mechanism and drives the vertical reciprocating mechanism of the needle manually, and a frame 1 of the sewing machine which houses a vertical reciprocating mechanism of the needle, the motor 2, and the power transmitting mechanism in its inside, and has an opening from which at least a part of the hand pulley 40 is exposed to the outside. An exhaust fan 35A discharging heat, accumulated inside the frame 1 of the sewing machine, from a clearance between the opening formed on the frame 1 and the hand pulley 40 exposed to the outside from the opening by rotatively driving the hand pulley 40 while it is interlocked with the power transmitting mechanism, is provided inside the hand pulley 40.
