PURPOSE: An information recording device is provided to precisely control the strength of light irradiated from a light irradiating device and to simplify circuit structure and to reduce manufacturing cost by eliminating circuits for peak holding. CONSTITUTION: A laser diode(LD) irradiates light to the information recording medium, and a front monitor diode(FMD) measures the strength of the light irradiated from the LD. A low pass filter(2) inputs a signal output from the FMD, and a sample/hold unit(3) performs sampling of the output signal from the LD. A switch(7) drives the low pass filter while the signal of a 14T mark is being recorded. The strength of the light irradiated from the LD is controlled according to the output signal from the low pass filter and sampled by the sample/hold unit.
