PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a micro surgical instrument for ophthalmology for holding a microstructure of an eye without squeezing or pinching the structure. SOLUTION: The microsurgical instrument comprises a housing configured as a handle with a function unit supporting a probe 46 and a rod-shaped body coaxially supported in the probe 46. The rod-shaped body has a head piece 50 configured as a grasping element with two arms that can be opened/closed. Each arm has a recess, forming a larger recess 55 with the arms pressed against each other to be in contact, so that microstructures 12 and 13 will not be squeezed or pinched.
