PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press forming method capable of performing a draw process and a trim process or a trim bend process at one behavior without overloading on the apparatus. SOLUTION: An upper die 2 descends toward a lower die 1 mounted by a workpiece W and a forming pad 3 provided in a hanging state via a hydraulic cylinder 4 toward the upper die 2 is crimped to the lower die 1 by maintaining an operating hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic cylinder 4 in a first prescribed pressure and a first working process to execute a draw process to the workpiece W is performed. After the first working process, the operating hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic cylinder 4 rapidly drops to a second prescribed pressure which maintains a pressing state of the workpiece W to the lower die 1 by the forming pad 3. Then, the upper die 2 descends and a second working process to execute the trim work or trim bend work to the workpiece W by a trim blade 5 provided in the upper die 2 is performed.
