PURPOSE: To perform accurate feedback-control of current of a linear solenoid to a target current, which adjusts hydraulic pressure in an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION: A voltage difference between terminals of a current detecting resister interposed in series upstream the solenoid is converted into current using a gain and an offset, so that the current of the solenoid is detected. In a detecting process, an ammeter for detection is connected, calibration for calculating the gain and the offset from correlation of the voltage difference and the actual current is performed for two temperature conditions respectively, and the calculated results are stored. In adjusting the hydraulic pressure, two current data obtained by conversion using the gain and the offset respectively suited to the two temperature conditions is interpolating-calculated corresponding to the ATF temperature, and the current data in characteristics meeting the actual temperature condition is obtained.
