LOCKING DEVICE FOR CARTRIDGE OF DISC DRIVE

PURPOSE: A cartridge locking device for a disc drive is provided to minimize the interference with other parts by mounting a locking unit and a support unit to inner walls of a main body of the disc drive, thereby minimizing the disc drive. Both side parts of the cartridge is kept in balance during advancing and withdrawing operation, so that the problems caused by the distortion of the cartridge are prevented. CONSTITUTION: A cartridge locking device for a disc drive includes supporting dies(120) mounted adjacent to side walls of a main body of the disc drive in the advancing direction of the cartridge, and a locking unit coupled with a side of the cartridge for moving along the supporting dies to guide the cartridge into the main body. The locking unit includes a rail part(140) mounted on the supporting die with predetermined laces(142) including a locking groove(P2), sliders(110) coupled with the cartridge to slide along the lace, and a spring(130) for providing elasticity to the slider in the opposite direction from the advancing direction of the cartridge. When the cartridge is fully advanced into the main body, the cartridge is captured by the locking groove by the slider. The slider further has lever parts deformable in the horizontal and vertical direction respectively.
