FLAT TYPE IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A flat type image display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce parts count, costs and manufacturing procedures by eliminating an amorphous glass rod for maintaining gaps between electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A flat type image display device comprises a front glass(10) having a screen mounted on the front glass, wherein the screen includes a black matrix layer formed between phosphors; an electron beam source or generating electron beams; a lead-out electrode having a through hole for leading out electron beams; a signal electrode for controlling image signals of electron beams; a focusing electrode for focusing electron beams; a plurality of deflection electrodes for deflecting electron beams in a horizontal or vertical direction; and a rear glass(50). The front glass, rear glass and electrodes are fixed at the same time. A method for manufacturing a flat type image display device comprises a first step of loading a rear glass in an electrode and cathode coupling jig(100); a second step of stacking a cathode(20), lead-out electrode, signal electrode, focusing electrode, horizontal deflection electrode, vertical deflection electrode and a front glass in sequence in such a manner that both ends of each electrodes are fixed to guide pins(102) of the jig; a third step of joining the front glass to the rear glass and electrodes in such a manner that the front glass, electrodes and the rear glass are joined at the same time through the use of a frit glass(60); and a fourth step of separating the jig.
