PURPOSE: An intake air cooling device and a control method thereof are provided to achieve improved engine output and fuel efficiency by cooling the temperature of the air being supplied to the engine during hot seasons. CONSTITUTION: An intake air cooling device comprises a connection pipe(20) for connecting an intake air pipe(12) from the front end of a heater core(10); a Venturi pipe(21) for connecting the connection pipe and the intake air pipe of an output end of an intercooler(13), which permits the air passed through the connection pipe to flow in direction same as the flow direction of the air flowing through the intake air pipe; a sluice valve(24) for opening/shutting the entrance of the connection pipe; an intake air temperature sensor(22) arranged in the rear end of the intercooler, which senses the temperature of the air; and a control unit(23) for controlling a cold/hot switching plate(11) and the sluice valve in accordance with the temperature of the air, and controlling a blower(5) so that the air cooled by an evaporator is partially supplied to the intake air pipe through the Venturi pipe when the temperature of the air is higher than a reference level.
