PURPOSE: A piston ring structure for reducing exhaust gas is provided to reduce HC gas generated from the incomplete combustion gas, by preventing the incomplete combustion gas from being supplied to the gap formed between the ring groove and compression ring. CONSTITUTION: A piston ring structure comprises a mounting groove(15) formed at the outer surface of a top land portion(14) formed at the top of a ring groove(13); an insertion groove(16) formed at the center of the mounting groove; a coil spring(19) accommodated into the insertion groove; a seal ring(17) having a side supported by the mounting groove and the other side tightly contacting the inner wall of a cylinder block(10), wherein the sealing ring prevents the incomplete combustion gas from being supplied to the gap formed between the ring groove and a compression ring(12); and a protrusion(18) protruded inward from the sealing ring and accommodated into the insertion groove, wherein the protrusion is elastically supported by the coil spring and permits the sealing ring to maintain appropriate frictional force with respect to the inner wall of the cylinder block.
