PURPOSE: A biodegradable resin is provided, to improve the mechanical properties comprising the tensile strength without the deterioration of the inherent physical properties comprising the biodegradability. CONSTITUTION: The biodegradable resin is such that clay is dispersed into a resin, in the ratio of 0.1-60 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the resin. The clay is at least one selected from the group consisting of montmorillonite, bentonite, hectorite, saponite, attapulgite, sepiolite and vermiculite. Preferably the surface of the clay is modified by using the material represented by the formula 1 or hydrogenated tallow, wherein R1 is H, or a phenyl group or alicyclic hydrocarbon group-containing carboxylic acid, amine, sulfonic acid, alkyl ester or C1-C22 alkyl group; R2, R3 and R4 and the same or different each another and are H, an aryl group or an alkyl group of C1-C22; and X is Cl, Br, I, OH, nitrite, sulfate or methyl sulfate.
