PREPARATION OF PRAVASTATIN SODIUM

PURPOSE: Provided is a preparation method of Pravastatin sodium, which is useful as therapeutics for hyperlipemia, in large quantity, by culturing Streptomyces carbophilus, KBT229(KCCM-10327). CONSTITUTION: The method of preparation of Pravastatin sodium comprises the steps of: adding 0.02-0.06% of a Pravastatin precursor to shake-cultured medium of Streptomyces carbophilus, KBT229(KCCM-10327), a mutant of Streptomyces carbophilus; and shake-culturing it at 25-29deg.C, followed by separating and purifying Pravastatin sodium by HPLC.
